Heathrow takes vital step towards carbon neutrality

Heathrow has announced its investment in an unique project in UK aviation: the restoration of UK peatlands to offset carbon emissions.  Working with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust and DEFRA, Heathrow’s first restoration priority will be Little Woolden Moss, part of Chat Moss which is a larger area of peat bog land, west of Manchester, it has been subject to commercial peat extraction for over 15 years.   The restoration of the UK’s peatland bogs, forms part of Heathrow’s plans to be a carbon neutral airport by 2020. Mondelēz International Expands Women’s Empowerment Plans in Cocoa Communities

Mondelēz International today announced new action plans to accelerate women’s empowerment across four cocoa origin countries as part of Cocoa Life, the company’s cocoa sustainability program. The company launched specific women’s empowerment action plans in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire in 2014 and is now expanding to include two additional origin countries, Indonesia and Dominican Republic. Britvic moves to 100% renewable electricity in new deal with E.ON

Britvic is pleased to announce that from October 2018, every Britvic manufacturing site in GB, from its offices to warehouses and factories, will be powered by 100% renewable electricity. World Bank Group Commits $1 Billion for Battery Storage to Ramp Up Renewable Energy Globally

In a major announcement at the One Planet Summit, the World Bank Group committed $1 billion for a new global program to accelerate investments in battery storage for energy systems in developing and middle-income countries.
