“Girls Can Code” harnesses technology for transformation and poverty alleviation

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay this week took advantage of a trip to Accra, Ghana, to interact with a younger generation in the UNESCO IFAP project “Girls Can Code”. Held in the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, the project has trained 150 girls and 10 female teachers in the development of apps and coding. Co-op launches Smartwater Fog Cannons to combat crime in communities

Co-op’s commitment to colleague and community safety has seen the retailer “launch” Smartwater fog cannons on Friday, 15 March. The forensic first is designed to deter crime by deploying a dense fog to obscure vision while linking criminals and stolen goods back to the scene of a crime.
