This Easter, Asda is getting the entire nation hopping mad with the introduction of its new Free From Choc Easter Bunny, becoming the first supermarket to introduce a vegan, gluten, wheat and dairy free bunny to the market.
With the introduction of the Free From Choc Easter Bunny to its range, Asda is giving those with a gluten or dairy intolerance, or those following a vegan lifestyle, the opportunity to hop on-board this Easter with a cheeky treat they can enjoy – ears and all.
The chocolate was created following feedback from customer Laura McIntyre, who commented that when it came to Easter; “our children who require products free of dairy would love to have the same as their friends, but usually end up with a boring plain egg”.
In response, Asda worked with its chocolate experts to create a mould unlike any other offered by supermarkets to produce a quality bunny free from wheat, gluten and dairy to help mum’s like Laura who want to make sure their children don’t miss out on any of the Easter fun.
The newest addition to the range has also received the Vegan Society seal of approval, further driving the retailer’s focus on inclusivity. This Easter, the bunny joins other free from products including the Extra Special Free From Belgian Dark Chocolate Egg with Vanilla Flavoured Truffles and Free From Hot Cross Buns.
Amber Pepper, Asda free from chocolate product developer, comments: “Easter is all about family and making sure everyone is included, so this year we wanted to make sure everybody had something special come April 1st.
“After receiving Laura’s email about the lack of inspiring free from Easter products, we worked with our chocolate experts to create a fun character the family would enjoy, minus gluten, wheat and dairy. As more and more people start adopting free from or vegan lifestyles, we want to make sure we’re at the forefront of providing quality, delicious products they can enjoy – especially over the holiday period”
