Celebrity chef’s Paw-some support for cats

Celebrity chef and French patissier Eric Lanlard is supporting Cats Protection’s fundraising initiative Pawsome Tea to raise money for thousands of unwanted cats and kittens in the charity’s care.

The event, which was launched last year, was met with an enthusiastic response and Cats Protection is looking to make this year even more successful

It’s inviting the cat-loving public to sign up now so they can plan to host their own tea parties in April.

“I’m a cat lover myself and am owned by two cats,” says Eric, who has twice been named Continental Patissier of the Year at the British Baking Awards. “I’m proud to be supporting Cats Protection and I hope the public will embrace the chance to bake some cakes, get together with friends and family and raise money for the huge amount of cats the charity cares for each year.”

“We’re really excited that Eric is supporting our Pawsome Tea event,” said Abi Young, Mass Participation Officer for Cats Protection. “It’s a wonderful excuse to enjoy some quality time with loved ones to enjoy tea, cake and a chat while raising funds for unwanted cats.

“You can sign up now to receive a free pack, complete with recipe ideas, cake flags and great ideas on how to put together a lovely event with your nearest and dearest. We’re encouraging people to get their pack now so they can prepare for a fabulous afternoon of fun any time in April.”

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and helps over 190,000 cats each year through a national network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 centres.
