CIPR and FSB join forces

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has joined forces with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to champion the interests of small business owners. The partnership will improve understanding of public relations amongst small business owners and entitles CIPR members to discounts on FSB membership.

FSB is the UK’s leading business campaigner for small businesses, focused on delivering change to support them to grow and succeed.

According to State of the Profession research, 12% of the PR workforce – approximately 8,500 PR professionals – describe themselves as independent practitioners.

Sarah Hall Chart.PR, FCIPR, CIPR President said:

Small businesses are the beating heart of the UK economy. At a time when businesses are faced with uncertainty, it is more crucial than ever for their voice to be heard. The public relations profession consists of a large number of small businesses and we look forward to closely working with and supporting the work of FSB to ensure their interests are represented.

Dave Stallon, Commercial Director FSB added:

As the leading voice of small businesses and the self-employed, FSB represents members from all industries and all professions across the UK. We look forward to welcoming more members from the public relations profession.

The partnership is the latest in a series of announcements from the CIPR aimed at promoting the value of public relations to the business community.

CIPR members that run small businesses are encouraged to take advantage of discounted membership of FSB. This includes an exclusive package of business services including advice, financial products and support covering a wide range of issues such as tax, legal and HR, local network groups, business banking and access to finance. This offer expires on 31 December, 2018. Visit here for more details.
