CIPR launches 2017 Ethics Festival

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has launched Ethics Festival 2017 – a programme of initiatives aimed at championing ethical practice and highlighting the ethical duties of public relations practitioners.

Throughout October, the CIPR will publish guidance and host events across the UK aimed at educating PR professionals on key ethical issues impacting public relations.

2017 Ethics Festival highlights include events on:

The CIPR will publish a series of podcasts to promote awareness of the diverse range of ethical challenges practitioners can face. The Institute will also publish an updated version of its ‘Integrity’ guidance – setting out how the Code of Conduct can be applied in practice.

Eva Maclaine FCIPR, Vice-Chair of the CIPR Professional Practices Committee says: “Integrity should be at the heart of all we do in public relations. It is what separates PR professionals, who have signed up to CIPR’s Code of Conduct, from others in the PR community.

That is why ethics is now a compulsory part of our CPD. And members will be able to earn their five CPD ethics points through the many events, blogs and webinars run by our groups for #EthicsFest this month. Keep your eyes open – there are some great events coming!”
