Healthy Starts at Home: New Campaign Offers Millennial and Family-Focused Tips and Tools to Create and Maintain a Safe and Healthy Home

Getting and staying healthy starts with a healthy home. That is the focus of a new campaign from the Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE)—Healthy Starts at Home.

Through October 2018 on www.HealthyStartsatHome.org, ACE will release creative tip sheets and tools that offer room-by-room guidance on how to maintain a healthy home, and the smartest ways to use, store, and dispose of common household products.

“People use products to care for their homes every day. Despite this, many are unsure of how to use them properly to clean and to keep their families well,” said Robert Slone, ACE Board president and chief sustainability and technology officer, Stepan Company. “Healthy Starts at Home is a resource for those who want to know what’s best for keeping themselves, their family, and home clean and healthy.”

Included among the new resources are a Cleaning Checklist for New Homeowners, printable Chore Cards for Kids, and a Home Guide that offers advice for keeping every room tidy and germ-free.

Through the campaign’s #MyHealthyHome Photo Contest, ACE Instagram followers can enter to win six-months’ worth of top household products from brands like SC Johnson, Procter and Gamble, Chase Products, Scotts Odoban, and RB. To enter, individuals must follow @aceconsumereducation on Instagram and upload and creatively caption a photo of what a healthy home means to them. Entries must also include the #MyHealthyHome hashtag.

ACE Facebook followers are invited to participate in the Healthy Starts at Home Mythbuster Monday quiz. Each week, ACE’s Facebook story will quiz followers about common household product and cleaning misperceptions.
