IPA commits to Home Secretary’s mission to stamp out online Child Sexual Exploitation

The IPA has welcomed the Home Secretary’s mission to tackling the online sexual exploitation of children (CSE) and has committed to helping stamp it out.

“Despite the UK having the most robust cross-industry online brand safety initiative in the world (in the form of JICWEBS Digital Trading Standards Group), which the IPA co-founded, more must clearly be done.

“We take the issue of CSE and indeed terrorist content extremely seriously and are happy to engage with Government, the Internet Watch Foundation, and the relevant law enforcement authorities, together with our industry partners, to help to address this.

“We have a strong track record of this having successfully worked with the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) to address advertising on copyright infringing websites via a ground-breaking initiative called Operation Creative.

“Working in collaboration, we must strangulate funding to these unscrupulous, criminal activities.”
