England football ace Jamie Vardy and wife Rebekah Vardy of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here fame will become the first family ambassadors for the UK’s leading children’s charity, Barnardo’s.
The couple, who have five children between them will back campaigns and events to highlight the charity’s vital work supporting thousands of vulnerable children throughout the UK each year.
In being appointed Rebekah said:
Jamie and I are really excited to support Barnardo’s. The work it does to help children across the UK is really important to us and we’re looking forward to getting stuck in and helping the charity in any way that we can.
Rebekah’s first roles will be to help promote Barnardo’s Retail Spring Clean campaign by encouraging people to donate pre-loved clothes to the charity’s stores and appear in person at the charity’s fundraising Big Toddle launch on June 12th at Dudley Zoo.
Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan said:
Our ambassadors are crucial in helping us to raise awareness about our important work across more than 1,000 UK-wide services, so that we can support even more vulnerable children and young people.
