Legacy training bursary now open

Legacy Link are pleased to announce the launch of the Crispin Ellison Bursary Award for 2019. The bursary aims to further the professional development of those working or volunteering in a legacy giving role the charity sector.

The Crispin Ellison Bursary Award, now in its third year, is an annual award, for two successful applicants to complete the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA), plus the cost of a year’s membership of the Institute of Legacy Management (ILM).

Legacy Link Director, Ashley Rowthorn, said:

“We’re passionate about legacy giving and the difference it makes to our charity sector. So as part of our commitment to helping charities grow their legacy income, I am delighted to announce that we are accepting applications again in 2019 to fund two students through their CiCLA qualification”.

The award is named in recognition of former Legacy Link Director Crispin Ellison, who retired in May 2016 after a career spanning four decades in both legacy marketing and administration.
Crispin played an important role in the professionalisation of the legacy sector, and was recently elected as honorary President of the ILM in recognition of his services.

“I have long been passionate about the need for recognised, professional training in the legacy sector. So, I am delighted and very honoured that Legacy Link has created this bursary to help aspiring students gain the all-important ILM CiCLA qualification as a vital part of their career progression”, said Crispin.

Last year’s winners were Jenny-Anne Dexter of Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and Mel Banham of Bransby Horses.
