Bristol-based environmental charity, City to Sea, and environmental compliance scheme Ecosurety, are today on World Refill Day (June 16th) announcing the launch of the new “Bristol Refill Cup Scheme.” The innovative new project will enable Bristolians to “borrow” a reusable takeaway cup from a café and then return it so it can be used again and again, reducing waste and tackling pollution and littering across the city. FMCG and retail leaders join forces to boost flexible plastic recycling in UK

Five of the UK’s largest branded manufacturers: Mars UK, Mondelēz International, Nestlé, PepsiCo and Unilever, have collaborated to form a £1 million fund to help make flexible plastic recycling economically viable for recyclers and easier for consumers. The Flexible Plastic Fund is a UK industry first and is being led by producer compliance scheme, Ecosurety, with support from environmental charity, Hubbub. Ecosurety launches #BringBackHeavyMetal with new home collections initiative

The #BringBackHeavyMetal campaign was created by Ecosurety and Hubbub in 2017 due to the fact that the UK gets through 40 million tonnes of portable batteries per year, and a recycling rate of less than 45% means that around 22 million tonnes are either sitting in people’s homes, being dumped into landfill or incinerated.
