PR and Communications Census 2019: “Time for real change”

The PRCA’s PR and Communications Census 2019 has revealed that the industry has made little progress in diversity since 2018. The ethnic makeup of the industry has remained the same since 2018 – 89% of the industry is White (80% White British and 9% Other White). The number of Non-White ethnic PR professionals has increased by 1% to 10% this year. Social mobility has improved slightly, 13% of PR professionals said their households received income support, and 11% said they received free school meals. Both statistics are up by 1%.…

PRCA and Communications Census 2019: “We should have no pay gap”

This week, the PRCA launched the PR and Communications Census 2019, which revealed that the industry gender pay gap has decreased since 2018. Women make up 67% of the industry, yet the gender pay gap in the PR and communications industry is 13.6% -7.4% lower since 2018. The ONS gender pay gap figure for all employees (part-time and full-time employees) is 17.9%. The ONS figure for full-time employees is 8.6%.
