“Don’t lose your bottle Gove” urge campaigners delivering 2,500-bottle artwork

Greenpeace deliver a 29 foot-long plastic bottle artwork to Environment Secretary Michael Gove to urge him not to ‘lose his bottle’ in the face of corporate lobbying, and to press on with an all-inclusive deposit return scheme. Government plans to boost recycling with “reverse vending machines” which will pay out for each bottle or can recycled. But industry is lobbying for big bottles and some materials to be excluded – meaning more than 6bn plastic bottles could escape the scheme.
