Amnesty International activists have taken a lifelike replica of a Eurofighter Typhoon jet – and accompanying missiles – to the Houses of Parliament this morning in protest at the UK’s continuing sale of arms to Saudi Arabia. Amnesty International has launched an advertising campaign satirising Saudi Arabia’s attempts to rebrand the country as “reforming” despite an ongoing crackdown against human rights activists in the Kingdom. “Saudi Arabia’s aggressive publicity drive to rebrand its image, tarnished by a ruthless crackdown on freedom of expression and a bombing offensive in Yemen, is fooling nobody,” Amnesty International said today, as it launched a satirical ad campaign telling the authorities not to mistake public relations for human rights. Nissan puts Saudi women behind the wheel with surprise instructors

Celebrating Saudi Arabia’s historic decision to grant women driver’s licenses, Nissan recently offered a group of young women the chance to get behind the wheel for the first time — with a surprise group of driving instructors. The company released an inspirational video about the initiative. It is part of Nissan’s #SheDrives campaign, which encourages women to embrace the exciting prospect of becoming fully licensed drivers in 2018.
