Wessanen UK to become Ecotone UK and commit to Food for Biodiversity

B Corp certified food company Wessanen UK – owner of Clipper Teas, Whole Earth, Kallo and Mrs Crimble’s – is to change its name to Ecotone UK and focus its new mission on ‘food for biodiversity’.   The planned change comes after its Dutch-based parent company Wessanen rebranded to Ecotone this month, relocated its headquarters to Lyon, France, and became a mission-driven company under French law (‘entreprise a mission’).  Across Europe, Wessanen has been a pioneer in vegetarian and organic food for 30 years. Today, as Ecotone, its family of companies employs 1500 people across seven countries, including 200 in the UK.  In 2019, Ecotone’s turnover was €625m.  Wessanen UK will introduce the new Ecotone name and branding gradually over coming months.  But…

Wessanen UK gives healthy boost to Fareshare

Healthy food company Wessanen UK has extended its support for food charity Fareshare with a £20,000 donation to provide an extra 80,000 meals for vulnerable people this winter. Wessanen UK supports Organic September trade boom

Pioneering B Corp food company, Wessanen UK, has reported strong YOY growth across its organic brand portfolio during recent weeks, which it is now aiming to build on during Organic September. Sales of organic Whole Earth peanut butter were up 25%, Kallo organic stocks and gravies were up 27% and Clipper organic teas up 16% (IRI, 12 w/e 15 Aug, 20).
