The Romans’ Olivia Butcher and Josie Dougoud win UK Young Lions PR Competition 2019

The PRCA is pleased to announce that The Romans’ team of Olivia Butcher MPRCA and Josie Dougoud MPRCA have won the UK Young Lions PR Competition 2019, sponsored by ICCO, with their ‘Mr Muscular Dystrophy’ campaign. The team will go on to represent the UK at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

This year’s UK competition saw 50 entries from teams of two under the age of 30, all responding to a brief from Muscular Dystrophy UK, which performed as the ‘client’. Each team then had 24 hours to create a creative and effective campaign.

PRCA also awarded silver and bronze accolades. Winning silver is Lucy Baker MPRCA and Rosie Cope MPRCA, The Romans, for their ‘I’ve Got MD’ campaign. Winning bronze is Nadine Kawash MPRCA and Marie Morgan MPRCA, FleishmanHillard Fishburn for their ‘#MusclesMatter Not Milestones’ campaign.

Commenting on Butcher and Dougoud’s campaign, the judges said that the team produced a strong, simple, and hugely creative idea that was presented with great passion.

Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, said: “I would like to personally congratulate Olivia and Josie on their win. We wish the pair the best of luck in Cannes where I am sure they will do the industry and the UK proud.”

The presentations of all six finalists will be uploaded to the PRCA website shortly.
