Translation holds this year’s Biggie Breakfast for Men’s Shelter

In 2016, Translation held the first-ever “Biggie Breakfast” after two Translators put their minds together to find the perfect way to honor The Notorious B.I.G. In less than 48 hours, they assembled a team of 13 people, secured a partnership with a local venue, and helped serve the MC’s favorite meal—steak, cheese eggs, and Welch’s grape—to the underserved residents in the Bed-Stuy community.

The impact of Biggie on the hip-hop landscape is vast, but not greater than how his spirit permeated Brooklyn’s soul. From his prophetic and prolific albums to his showmanship, all in the name of Brooklyn, he will forever stand ays an icon for the culture and beyond. Biggie is Bed-Stuy, and will forever motivate the community to rally around making their dreams come true.

On March 10, 2018 from 10am-1pm, Translation brought “Biggie Breakfast” to a men’s shelter. More than 30 volunteers served the rapper’s favorite meal to over 200 men housed in a network of men’s shelters.

In addition to breakfast, a number of speakers were invited to touch on topics like overcoming barriers and how consistency through hard work leads to success. The goal is to motivate and inspire the men’s shelter attendees to live out their dreams.
