UNICEF Executive Director to serve as board chair of Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children

UNICEF Executive Director, Henrietta Fore, will serve as chair of the board of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children.

Now in its third year, the Global Partnership – a coalition of governments, United Nations agencies, international non-governmental and civil society organizations, the private sector, academics and children – is dedicated to ending all forms of violence, exploitation and abuse against children.

UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore replaces Elisabeth Dahlin, Interim End Violence Board Chair and Secretary General of Save the Children Sweden.

“Violence against children is unacceptable, but it is also preventable,” said Fore. “As the Partnership enters its third year, I call on its members – and those not yet involved – to join us in creating a world where every child can grow up safe from violence, abuse and neglect.”

“Henrietta Fore has a clear commitment to improving the lives of children and brings extensive public and private sector leadership experience,” said Dahlin.

Fore has served on the End Violence Board since January 2018, and was invited to become board chair following a consultation among board members. Her two-year appointment as End Violence Board Chair begins as the Partnership celebrates its second anniversary.
