Vision

Córdoba is committed to promoting community learning programmes with a holistic and intergenerational perspective and to forming territorial networks with representatives of local institutions to enable linkages that promote lifelong learning and efficiently manage resources. In the long term, Córdoba aims to redefine socioeducational development spaces, prioritize sustainability in its policies and take advantage of innovative learning technologies. The city's goals include building a shared vision for lifelong learning and comprehensive economic, social and environmental policies that work to unlock human potential.

Policies, plan and implementation

Sustainability and health
The city’s public health service collaborates with various sectors to decentralize health care, provide medicines and address population-specific health needs. Additionally, environmental management and sustainability efforts, along with public education projects, promote a healthy lifestyle and environmental awareness as part of the learning city strategy.
Equity and inclusion
Córdoba’s Secretariat of Social Policies, Inclusion and Coexistence collaborates with a number of stakeholders to run programmes that protect individuals with disabilities, vulnerable groups (including older adults) and families. The city offers artistic, cultural and occupational workshops, as well as decentralized training in municipal units. Access to health care and transport for people with disabilities is prioritized.
Decent work and entrepreneurship
The city promotes policies that support decent jobs and entrepreneurship, emphasize creativity and innovation, and formalize educational provision. Córdoba’s aim is to create inclusive economic growth, provide quality employment for vulnerable groups and enhance the skills of the unemployed. The municipality works with companies and universities to offer various education and training programmes covering literacy, new technologies, and professional and technical skills.

Good practices

PIEnsA Córdoba
This programme focuses on enhancing teaching methods in early childhood and primary education. It aims to strengthen educational trajectories, particularly for children attending municipal kindergartens and schools, with a focus on equity and social inclusion. The programme introduces innovations in teaching, including digital education, programming, robotics, English and art, while also emphasizing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
‘Centro de oportunidades para el aprendizaje’ (COPA) (Centre for Learning Opportunities)
COPA brings education, vocational training, art workshops and recreational activities to neighbourhoods. It operates in response to community demand, promoting cultural awareness through guided tours of Córdoba’s cultural assets.
‘Parques Educativos’ (Educational Parks)
These spaces facilitate learning, creativity and socioeducational activities for children, youth, adults and older people. They offer educational, sporting, recreational, environmental and cultural programmes, promoting the right to education, work, health, culture, sports and a healthy environment.
