The city has also established community health centres and awareness programmes covering disease prevention, mental health and nutritious eating habits.
Equity and inclusion
Al Madinah Al Munawwarah targets marginalized groups, including women and those with disabilities, by establishing learning centres in underserved areas offering literacy, adult education and vocational training. The city’s approach bolsters gender equality and promotes intercultural dialogue, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Decent work and entrepreneurship

Good practices

Society Without Illiteracy
The project strives to impart fundamental reading and writing skills to individuals from diverse backgrounds, with the overarching goal of eliminating low literacy levels within the community.
Learning Neighbourhood Centres
The centres focus on residents aged 15 and above, aiming to offer a comprehensive range of economic, cultural, social and health-related educational programmes and awareness campaigns within neighbourhoods. The ultimate goal is to transform these neighbourhoods into hubs of continuous learning. This project also involves the active participation of universities and associations, who contribute with diverse educational projects and programmes.
