We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager to join Wates with our Wates Living Space Bid team. You will successfully manage the project bid process to ensure that a considered and co-ordinated bid can be presented for adjudication; as well as then manage the second stage of the bid. Wates Living Space is one of the UK’s leading providers of planned and responsive maintenance services in the social housing sector, maintaining over 500,000 homes nationwide every year.Key accountabilities of this role will include: Leading in new bids from concept through to fruition ensuring our offers are clearly articulated, cost estimate is adjudicated and signed off and final submissions are reviewed Produce a bid strategy and brief tender team Ensure correct selection of subcontractors and suppliers for key packages and organise distribution of tender documents/amendments for appropriate parties. Develop presentations to potential clients using graphic design skills and utilise external graphic designers and printers Responsibility for the quality of all aspects of the bid, including written documentation and presentations, ensuring that written work is clear, concise and compelling. We are looking for an experienced Bid Manager within the social housing industry with strong knowledge of the whole bid process, having successfully managed bids from start to finish. To be successful in this role you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organised and have good team management skills.

Here at Wates we have an opportunity for an Electrician to join our Living Space team on our responsive maintenance contract in the Redditch area. The primary focus of this role will be to carry out the Electrical Installation Condition Report as well as additional tasks to achieve first time fix and deliver a high standard of workmanship in a timely and productive manner always affording excellent customer service to the client. Key Accountabilities will include: Undertaking repair/ renewal works within your Electricians remit and work with associated trades Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports Ensure maintenance work is undertaken safely and in accordance with all technical standards Communicate effectively with residents, scheduler and line manager Work safely and in compliance with Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements Remain up-to-date with technical and legal requirements of skill area Working in partnership with other operatives to complete repairs, if required Completing time sheets work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken, via a PDA We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician (ideally 18th Edition qualified) who can utilise their skills to deliver small projects and repair works as well as someone who has experience of carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports.You will hold a full UK diving licence, be confident in managing your own workload and will ideally already have experience of the housing maintenance sector. Alongside this you will be able to effectively communicate with people, ensuring work is always carried out safely.
