National Academy Foundation (NAF) is a national network of education, business, and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career, and future ready. NAF solves some of the biggest challenges facing education and the economy by bringing education, business, and community leaders together to transform the high school experience. During the 2015-16 school year nearly 89,000 students attended 716 NAF academies across 36 states, including DC and the US Virgin Islands. In 2015, NAF academies reported 98% of seniors graduated with 92% of graduates planned to go to college. Iyer helps align the curriculum to where jobs openings currently exist; he believes programming is currently the hotspot of opportunity.

Year Up’s mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. Iyer serves as a bridge to showcase opportunities these individuals can pursue within the enterprise – such as IT helpdesk or security roles. Additionally he speaks with fellow CIOs in support of the mission.
