Marie Curie is very different. We don't only offer medical skills, we provide emotional support too. Making sure somebody is pain-free, washed, feels clean, feels safe, feels cared for... It means a lot.

When Jeremy knew he wasn't going to make it, he wanted to get married. A nurse overheard and said we could have our wedding at the hospice. On the day, the nurses pushed two beds together and put 'Just married' across them. There were little red hearts everywhere.

Before the support I received from Marie Curie, I always assumed no one would have time to listen to what I was really going through. But they gave me an outlet. It felt good to share my feelings with someone else outside of my friends and family.
