Rewilding Britain calls for the new government to commit to dedicating 30% of land and seas to rewilding by 2030 as new polling shows vast majority of British public in support. Public backing for rewilding is stronger than ever, with more than four in five Britons in support, according to new polling by charity Rewilding Britain. New Factory Extracting Gold from E-Waste Unveiled by The Royal Mint

A pioneering new factory that provides a more sustainable source of gold and reduces reliance on mining has been unveiled by The Royal Mint. Located at its site in south Wales, the 3,700 square metre facility uses world-first patented chemistry from Canadian clean tech company Excir, extracting gold from printed circuit boards (PCBs) found in everyday items, such as TVs, laptops and mobile phones, in minutes. Proposed Anglo-Scottish electricity superhighway is first to clear final fast-track funding hurdle

Ofgem’s Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework is fast-tracking 26 major connection projects which will boost grid capacity and could deliver estimated savings of £1.5 billion.  A £3.4 billion funding package has been awarded to build a proposed new subsea and underground 500km cable between Scotland and Yorkshire which could power up to 2million homes.
