RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has published its latest Power for Good report, setting out how it is putting its purpose into practice across the 24 countries where it operates.
Covering the 2025 financial year, the report details practical initiatives that cut household energy bills, fund local causes and build long-term partnerships with the communities RES works alongside. These span its 29GW of developed and constructed renewable energy projects, equivalent to powering 27.6 million homes for a year (more than 95% of all homes in the UK), and the 45GW of assets it supports worldwide.
Chief among these is RES’ Local Electricity Discount Scheme (LEDS), which has delivered over £9.3 million in bill discounts through more than 46,500 payments across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, including almost £1.9 million to more than 7,000 properties in 2025 alone. This year RES took the scheme international for the first time, launching LEDS in Australia at the Moah Creek Wind Farm in Queensland, where eligible households within three kilometres receive an annual discount of $1,000.
RES’ people contribute directly too, with four days of paid volunteering leave and charity donation matching up to £500 each year. In Sweden, RES’ Powerbank model funded the restoration of a disused water canal for local fishing days, while in Mexico fifteen volunteers installed 60 solar powered streetlights in the village of La Blanca. In Australia, the Tarong West Wind Farm project has partnered with the South Burnett Pantry, which provided food relief to more than 15,000 people in 2025.
RES has also strengthened partnerships with Indigenous communities, launching a four-year Reconciliation Action Plan in Canada in September 2025, alongside the 200MW Bekevar Wind Project in Saskatchewan, which secured 17% equity ownership for Cowessess Ventures Ltd (Cowessess First Nation). In Australia, RES launched its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan in February 2025.
