Carbon Clean announces successful completion of world’s first industrial deployment of CycloneCC

Carbon Clean has announced the successful completion of the world’s first industrial deployment of CycloneCC. The modular unit has achieved the major milestone of around 4,000 operating hours over a six-month period, moving CycloneCC to Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL 7)1. CycloneCC has been operating continuously, delivering a high purity CO2 product, which exceeds the projected target and meets Fertiglobe’s CO2 purity requirements.   System validation has confirmed that the industrial demonstration unit can now be further scaled up and commercialised.   The mobile CycloneCC unit was installed on site in under a…

MODEC enters into offshore carbon capture FEED contract with SAMSUNG E&A, deploying Carbon Clean’s CycloneCC technology

MODEC has entered into a Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract with SAMSUNG E&A for an offshore carbon capture pilot project, selecting Carbon Clean’s modular CycloneCC technology. The study envisages the installation of a carbon capture module on a MODEC Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel as a pilot, and it will be a first-of-a-kind deployment of CycloneCC in an onboard carbon capture setting. Carbon Clean will provide FEED support to SAMSUNG E&A, including equipment supply of the rotating packed bed (RPB) technology at the heart of CycloneCC…

Aramco, Carbon Clean and SAMSUNG E&A Partner on Carbon Capture Plant

This technology demonstration is designed to deploy Carbon Clean’s novel CycloneCC technology to capture CO2 from natural gas turbine exhaust streams containing approximately 4% CO2. The modular CycloneCC unit has a 50% smaller footprint compared to conventional carbon capture processes. If successful, the CycloneCC technology is estimated to reduce the total installed cost of carbon capture systems by up to 50% compared to conventional systems, while maintaining high performance and process efficiency even at low CO2 concentrations. Ali A. Al-Meshari, Aramco Senior Vice President of Technology Oversight & Coordination, said:…

Carbon Clean announces fully columnless carbon capture, with launch of CycloneCC C1 series

Carbon Clean, a leader in revolutionising carbon capture solutions, today announced the launch of its breakthrough CycloneCC C1 series, marking the penultimate stage in the technology’s commercialisation. The CycloneCC C1 series is available in concentrations ranging from 3% to 20%, capturing up to 100,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The CycloneCC C1 unit is fully modular and columnless, achieving a height reduction of 70% compared to conventional solutions. Rotating Packed Bed (RPB) technology replaces every column used in a conventional plant, which reduces the steel required by 35% and lowers…
