“Tech4PrisonLeavers” launches with Digital Poverty Alliance supporting men leaving prison with digital skills

The Digital Poverty Alliance and Intel have partnered with Trailblazers Mentoring Charity to launch “Tech4PrisonLeavers”, a scheme which provides young ex-offenders with access to technology and digital skills. The campaign is set to provide a group of 25 men leaving Her Majesty’s Young Offender’s Institution at Brinsford prison in Wolverhampton with devices, connectivity, skills and mentoring in order to give them better access to employment opportunities and life skills upon release. Currys select the Digital Poverty Alliance to become its new in-store UK Pennies donation partner

The Digital Poverty Alliance, the Learning Foundation campaign seeking to end digital poverty in the UK, has today been announced as the instore donation partner for the tech giant, Currys. From May, Currys customers nationwide will be offered the chance to donate 25p to charity when paying by card or digital wallet, through Currys’ partnership with micro-donation charity Pennies. Digital Poverty Alliance rolls out stage two of Tech4Teachers, in partnership with Barclays and Intel, supporting 20,000 underprivileged children in the UK

The Digital Poverty Alliance, alongside Barclays and Intel, have started to roll out its second stage of Tech4Teachers, a new project which provides laptops to teachers to improve the quality of teaching at schools across the UK. This stage of the campaign has started to connect teachers who lack adequate online access with 550 new devices, to enable them to better support over 20,000 school children in the most disadvantaged communities.
