Rolls-Royce has announced it has broken ground on a truly unique engine test site to perform outdoor, full-scale gas turbine hydrogen testing. The development of the site and engine testing is in partnership with easyJet and will be located at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Ryanair, Delta, Lufthansa, Easyjet among 71 airlines warned over potential greenwashing

Environmental groups have warned 71 airlines operating out of Schiphol airport that they must respect the greenwashing limits clarified by the legal precedent-setting Dutch Court ruling against KLM in March this year. ClientEarth, Fossielvrij and Reclame Fossielvrij have sent a legal letter warning that airlines should not promote common industry claims about ‘sustainable aviation fuels’, ‘offsetting’ and ‘net zero by 2050’ as they are likely to be unlawful. easyJet signs up to Airbus’ pioneering carbon removal solution

easyJet has become the first airline in the world to sign a contract with Airbus for its carbon-removal initiative. Available through the Airbus Carbon Capture Offer, the technology uses Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS), to offer airlines worldwide carbon removal credits to advance their decarbonisation goals.  DACCS technology filters and removes CO2 emissions directly from the air using high powered extraction fans. easyJet has announced a multi-million-pound fleet-wide investment into the latest aircraft software which will help the airline to achieve substantial and permanent carbon emission reductions in the short-term by enabling the optimisation of aircraft descents.
