Samsung, IKEA get behind Korea’s ‘Right to Renewable Energy Initiative’

12 corporations, including Samsung Electronics, IKEA Korea and AB InBev, have publicly shown their support for the Right to Renewable Energy Initiative which launched recently at the Korean National Assembly. The coalition, comprised of 45 Members of Parliament and six civil society groups (Biodiversity Foundation, ENET, Greenpeace Seoul, KFEM, KoSIF and WWF Korea), aims to push for a renewable energy procurement policy and renewable energy expansion in South Korea. Marine life flies outside UN as world meets to discuss global ocean treaty

Greenpeace activists flew a giant turtle outside the United Nations HQ in New York this morning, as countries gathered to begin negotiations, for the first time in history, towards a treaty covering all oceans outside of national borders.
