Vattenfall inaugurates its largest onshore wind farm in the UK

South Kyle Onshore Wind Farm has been inaugurated today in south west Scotland. Once fully commissioned the wind farm will have an installed capacity of 240MW, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 187,000 homes. The wind farm was developed and constructed by Vattenfall and will be owned by Greencoat UK Wind PLC. Vattenfall and Coca-Cola in Sweden collaborate on electric heavy goods transport

Vattenfall and Coca-Cola in Sweden are investing in electric operation of heavy goods vehicles. Initially, three charging stations for trucks will be installed at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners’ plant at Jordbro outside of Stockholm, which has been certified as climate neutral since 2021. Both Vattenfall and Coca-Cola in Sweden have set ambitious climate targets for net zero emissions across their entire value chains by 2040. British model, actress and climate advocate Cara Delevingne joins forces with Vattenfall to launch the first-ever “Industrial Emissions Face Mist”. The face mist is a way to highlight one of the solutions to reduce climate emissions, in this case by the use of fossil-free hydrogen. Vattenfall plans for new hydro power in Sweden

For the first time in twelve years, Vattenfall plans to build new hydro power in four Swedish locations that are already home to hydro power plants. In total, the project will provide 720 megawatts of new hydro capacity, assuming a decision to invest is made. Vattenfall plans for new hydropower with a possible capacity of a total of 720 MW, which could be built starting from 2026 and into the 2030s.
