HEINEKEN Africa Foundation and WaterAid renew partnership after reaching 30 million people in fight against Covid-19

HEINEKEN Africa Foundation and WaterAid have renewed their partnership after bringing clean water and good hygiene to 30 million people across Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda, and Mozambique, helping communities protect themselves from the spread of infectious diseases like coronavirus.   Last year the Foundation, which has been supporting water and health projects since 2007, donated more than £1 million (€1.2 million) to the international charity to support its emergency response work to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 in vulnerable communities in sub-Saharan Africa. The Foundation has now renewed its commitment to WaterAid by donating a further £1.4 million (€1.6 million) and extending its support to WaterAid’s work in Ethiopia.   Frequent…

Employees At Liberty Specialty Markets Set New Guinness World Records™ Title In Support Of Wateraid

Employees at insurer Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, have set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest online video chain passing a water bottle. The new world record was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records on 7 June and raised a total of £1,500 for WaterAid. 709 global LSM staff took part by filming themselves virtually handing over a bottle of water from one to another. WaterAid installs striking giant hourglass by the Thames to highlight the fact that every second, another person is forced into water scarcity

International charity WaterAid has created a thought-provoking installation on the bank of the Thames to highlight how climate change is threatening drinking water supplies around the world.  The arresting 3.5-metre high hourglass in Potters Field in London is drawing attention to the shocking fact that every second, one more person around the world is forced into water scarcity, where water access could be limited due to increased demand.   The striking scene comes ahead of todays G7 Finance Ministers meeting  followed by the G7 Leaders’ Summit in June, where WaterAid will be calling for the UK Government to push for more support to help…

Great Swim takes the plunge in new charity partnership with WaterAid

WaterAid is delighted to be named as the official 2021 Charity Partner for the Great Swim Series, teaming up with the popular open water swimming events to boost their fundraising this summer.
