1968 Civil Rights Movement Comes To Ben & Jerry’s Vermont Factory

Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury, VT is marking the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Poor People’s Campaign with a special display from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. The ice cream factory is Vermont’s largest, single tourist attraction, receiving almost 400,000 people a year. The Alcohol Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH), along with business, civic and community partners, announced the formation of the Ohio Opioid Education Alliance and unveiled a multimillion dollar media campaign designed to engage parents and caregivers in preventing the use of opioids among our community’s youth. UK Government post new measures announced to halve childhood obesity by 2030

Building on the first chapter of the childhood obesity plan, the new measures include proposals to counter ‘pester power’ by preventing stores from displaying unhealthy food at checkouts or including it in buy-one-get-one-free deals.
