Call for consultation on the first specification for decarbonising use-phase emissions of connected devices

The Carbon Trust is working with leading tech companies, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Samsung and Sky to develop an industry-first specification for measuring, accounting for and decarbonising the carbon emissions associated with connected devices while being used by customers. When finalised, the specification will be publicly available and applicable to a wide range of different connected devices and organisations, supporting the reduction of device-related use-phase emissions. ILO calls on G20 for international solidarity to close the global decent work divide

The ILO Director-General, Gilbert F. Houngbo, has called on G20 Labour and Employment Ministers  to tackle skills gaps, invest in social protection systems for all and embrace sustainable financing mechanisms for employment and social protection policies to close growing fractures in the global labour market and reduce inequalities. CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals and Publicis Groupe Canada reclaim the hoodie, show the brilliance of Black youth in new campaign

Canada has a hiring bias problem. The unemployment rate among young Black people (aged 15 to 24) was a staggering 30.6% in January 2021, almost double the national average for the same age group, according to Statistics Canada. A recent survey revealed that 76% of Black Torontonians experience racial discrimination at least a few times a month.
