CIPR opens applications for 2022 Research Fund

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has opened its 2022 Research Fund for applications following a successful launch last year.

Launched in 2021 under then-President, Mandy Pearse, the Fund awards grants of up to £2000 to CIPR members at any stage of their careers to conduct independent PR research to support the critical research of PR practice, in line with the CIPR Royal Charter and five-year strategy. Applications will be decided by members of the CIPR’s Research Fund Panel.

In 2021 three CIPR members received funding for their research. One of the 2021 recipients, Martin Turner Found.Chart.PR, MCIPR, has produced a short guide and video on PR in a pluralistic society – ‘The Impact of Post-Secularism on the Not-For-Profit’s Access to Public Conversations’ – that are now available to watch and read.

I’m very pleased to open applications again for this year’s research fund. We were thrilled with the response we had to the launch of the fund last year and now members are able to see the benefit of that with the first published research paper out today. I hope this inspires other members to consider applying for a grant to undertake their own research. Research of this nature gives members an opportunity to explore wider themes impacting the profession that don’t fall within our immediate remit but are no less valuable. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the proposals and eventually seeing the final work.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5pm on Monday 13 June 2022. For more about the Fund and how to apply, please visit our website.
