Dedicated fans celebrated Korean boyband BTS’s arrival in the UK by joining forces to raise funds for FareShare.
BTS fans, collectively known as ‘The Army’, have raised over £1,500 so far. The group are performing at London’s O2 arena this week.
Fan Twitter accounts BTS UK ARMY UNITE and One In An ARMY set up the JustGiving page together: “Our goal is to fundraise for @FareShareUK, the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste,” said BTS UK ARMY UNITE.
Tickets to the concerts sold out within minutes. One fan wrote on the page: “I couldn’t get tickets to the concert so won’t be there but hope that all ARMY who are going have a wonderful time and I’m happy I can contribute to this in a small way.”
FareShare’s Head of Fundraising Lindsay Cape, said: “We were completely unprepared for this – the fans’ generosity has been overwhelming and we can’t thank them enough. Go Army!”
