Cawston Press and FareShare join forces to tackle rising food insecurity

The pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis have dramatically increased the number of people in food insecurity in the UK. Up to 10 million people, including 2.5m children, are now skipping meals and struggling to get enough food to eat.

Meanwhile, In the UK, more than 2 million tonnes of good-to-eat surplus food is wasted each year, the equivalent of 1.3 billion meals.

Cawston Press is a trailblazer of great tasting soft drinks and is committed to only using natural ingredients, as well as improve their impact on people and the planet. Now they will be donating 100,000 kids drinks and the equivalent of 140,000 meals to FareShare. This new partnership supports Cawston’s ‘Pressing for Better’ strategy.

Commercial Director at FareShare, Alyson Walsh, thanked Cawston Press for their support.

“We are excited and thankful to partner with Cawston Press. The provision of 100,000 Fruit Water cartons and financial support equivalent to 140,000 meals will help us support our network of nearly 9,500 charities and community organisations across the UK.” She added.

Cawston Press has also committed to volunteering to help FareShare deliver food & drink across the UK.

During the last financial year, 2021-22, FareShare redistributed the equivalent of nearly 130 million meals – that’s 4 meals every second.
