Celebrating the best of the net-zero transition: Entries open for edie Net-Zero Awards 2025

Entries are officially open for edie’s hugely popular Net-Zero Awards – the UK’s only industry-wide awards scheme recognising and rewarding the individuals and organisations that are spearheading the transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Now in their third year, the Net-Zero Awards sit in the critical spot between net-zero strategy and on-the-ground implementation of energy and carbon management projects. It is a sister scheme to the long-standing edie Awards, with categories specifically designed to recognise particular decarbonisation projects and initiatives.

Past winners of edie’s Net-Zero awards include BT, Chivas Brothers, John Lewis Partnership, Electricity North West, Formula E, Newport City Council, Sodexo, Octopus Energy, The Environment Agency, Whitbread and the University of Reading.

“Whether you’ve delivered a group-wide renewable energy programme or a site-specific decarbonisation project – this is the awards scheme to have your efforts and achievements recognised by thousands of fellow businesses and climate experts.”

For the third annual Net-Zero Awards, 19 categories have been developed, ranging from Energy Efficiency Project to Upskilling and Training Initiative.

There is also the Net-Zero Hero award to recognise outstanding individual achievement, plus coveted Net-Zero Strategy award categories for large organisations and SMEs.

New for 2025 is the Research Institute of the Year award, which shines a light on the educational bodies, think tanks and NGOs that have worked tirelessly to ensure that discourse on net-zero is grounded in evidence.

This year will additionally see the Net-Zero Awards bolstered by edie’s newly acquired Springwise arm, with the Innovation of the Year categories open to international organisations, to support the surge of energy and carbon-related innovations from across the globe.
