CISL to launch a Postgraduate Alumni Council

CISL to launch a new Postgraduate Alumni Council to develop a programme of ongoing alumni engagement that reflects the depth of connection between CISL and this critical group of change agents.

More than 2,000 postgraduate students have studied with CISL over the last 25 years, and in doing so have built leadership capacity for positive change in the world. CISL is pleased to announce that in late 2025 an Alumni Council for CISL’s postgraduate cohorts will launch. Joining a postgraduate programme represents a special significant investment of time and resource, resulting in deep shared knowledge base and sense of community. The new council Council will develop a programme of ongoing alumni engagement that reflects the depth of connection between CISL and this critical group of change agents. Council members will then also need to be willing to take shared responsibility for the execution of the plan with oversight from CISL.

Council members will be selected from alumni from the Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business (including former Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Value Chains), the Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Business, the Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership (continuous and flexible route), and the Postgraduate Certificate and Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership for the Built Environment (formerly IDBE), who are not studying currently with CISL. Qualifying alumni are invited to express their interest in contributing to the Council itself for a term of office, or being part of a wider support group.

 How to get involved

CISL invites expressions of interest from alumni who have the energy and capacity to join the Council, serving the postgraduate community wherever they are in the world with events and other activities. You will need to be willing and able to invest time and energy in developing and implementing the agreed programme of activities.

Join a webinar on Tuesday September 23 at 09:30 BST or Thursday 25 September at 12.00 BST. Please register by completing this short form for Tuesday or this form for Thursday. The webinar will describe the purpose and aims for the Council, set out the application and selection process, and start discussing ways to engage the wider alumni group.
