Concordia University-Portland’s Back to School Campaign Elevates Educators

Concordia University-Portland and its nationwide College of Education alumni network of more than 10,000 educators are going back to school this fall with renewed optimism for the incredible potential of every child.

“This back-to-school season, we’re honoring the passion and dedication of our nation’s teachers,” said Concordia’s College of Education Dean Sheryl Reinisch. “Concordia joins in celebrating teachers on their #firstdayofschool and encourages lifelong learning.”

Here is how to get involved: teachers can download their customizable back to school poster at www.cu-portland.edu/FirstDay to share how many first days they’ve had in their career. They will post it to social media and include their number of first days: “It’s my __#FirstDayOfSchool.”  Teachers everywhere are encouraged to rally their educator peers to download the poster and share their #FirstDayOfSchool moments.

Concordia University-Portland prepares educators through its bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees online and on campus. The university’s educator alumni network is more than 10,000 strong, reaching elementary, middle, and high school students.

At Concordia, current and future teachers are immersed from day one in real school environments. This emphasis on field experiences – early and often – helps drive classroom discussions, theory, and coursework, and serves as the foundation of a new, collaborative education model called 3 to PhD®.
