DairyPure® Partners With Feeding America® This Holiday Season To Donate 500,000 Meals

Less than a month remains until Thanksgiving and many Americans are busy preparing their holiday menus. For 40 million people, however, the seasonal table looks unseasonably bare. That’s because one in eight Americans are at risk of hunger. Today, DairyPure® and TruMoo®, two of the largest brands within the Dean Foods Company portfolio, announced plans to “Share the Goodness” by partnering with consumers to donate 500,000 meals* to Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.

“Dean Foods has been proud to support Feeding America for the last decade. To kick off this year’s campaign, our employees volunteered at the North Texas Food Bank in October,” said Joe Reske, Senior Director, Marketing, DairyPure. “We are thrilled to continue this long-standing partnership to help drive much-needed awareness to the issue of hunger and to shed light on the work that still needs to be done. Every donation counts!”

“Dairy is one of the most requested but least available and donated products at Feeding America food banks,” explained Karen Hanner, VP, Manufacturing Product Sourcing at Feeding America. “Dean Foods’ support through its DairyPure and TruMoo brands this holiday season will help provide Americans with the nutrition they need. The half-a-million meal donation, however, is just the start. Milk is always a staple during the holiday season and DairyPure is offering consumers an easy way to give back as they shop, by donating “Kick” points from their Shopkick® shopping rewards account. From November 27 through December 21, Dean Foods will gift consumers 15 Kicks for scanning DairyPure and TruMoo brand products while in-store, and 200 additional Kicks for purchasing. These Kicks can then be donated to Feeding America, so customers can give back to their local communities this holiday season with each donated kick providing extra support beyond the 500,000 meals already committed.3
