FareShare appoints Alan Gosschalk to its board of trustees

FareShare UK has appointed Alan Gosschalk to its board of Trustees. Alan brings over twenty years of experience as Fundraising Director for leading charities including Scope, RNID and Shelter, where he more than doubled the charity’s voluntary income during his nine-year stint leading the fundraising team.

Since 2018 Alan has been Director of Fundraising at Plan International UK, part of the global children’s charity advancing children’s rights and equality for girls in more than 70 countries.

Alan is an experienced Trustee with 10 years at Hope and Homes for Children and the Chartered Institute of Fundraising where he was Vice-Chair for over five years.

On being appointed to the board of Trustees for FareShare UK, Alan said:

“I am thrilled to be joining FareShare and their mission to redistribute surplus food to people in need across the UK. I look forward to working with The Board and Chief Executive, Lindsay Boswell, to achieve their ambitious plans for growth and build on the already incredible work that the charity does.  FareShare has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, from responding to the immediate need for food for people from vulnerable communities at the start of the pandemic, to those who are being impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.”

Chief Executive of FareShare Lindsay Boswell said:

“I am delighted to welcome Alan to the Board of Trustees. Alan’s wealth of professional expertise in fundraising will be vital in enabling us to raise more funds to secure our long-term financial sustainability and in turn, help us support the thousands of charities and community groups we serve nationwide every day.”
