Feminist advertising agency Mad&Women joins forces with UNESCO to promote gender equality

To give more visibility to initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and girls’ and women’s empowerment, UNESCO is collaborating with the advertising agency Mad&Women through the signature of a strategic partnership.

The agreement was signed on 4 April between Ms Saniye Gülser Corat, UNESCO’s Director for Gender Equality, and Ms Christelle Delarue, founder and CEO of Mad&Women, at UNESCO Headquarters. This agreement reflects an enduring commitment between the two organizations to advance gender equality.

Founded in 2012, the Paris-based advertising agency defends women’s rights by fighting stereotypes in advertising content.

Within the framework of the agreement, Mad&Women will provide strategic and technical support to UNESCO’s communications on gender equality.

UNESCO works for the rights and empowerment of women and gender equality in all its fields of action. Gender equality is one of UNESCO’s global priorities. In a previous event at which Ms Christelle Delarue spoke, Ms Saniye Gülser Corat recalled the importance of this issue: “It is crucial to identify and to combat gender stereotypes to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality“.

This cooperation is part of UNESCO and Mad&Women’s commitment to communicate on actions to combat existing inequalities, including gender-based discrimination and violence.
