Greater Good Charities, an international non-profit that amplifies the good by tackling the issues still waiting for a champion, announced it has surpassed $1.1 billion in lifetime impact. To coincide with this milestone, the organization released its 20-Year Impact Report, a comprehensive retrospective on two decades of responding to the needs of people, animals and the environment.
What began in 2006 as a digital platform to connect donors to causes has evolved into a global force operating across 121 countries. Today, the organization works at the intersection of crisis and disaster response, animal health and wellbeing, biodiversity and conservation and humanitarian relief and development. By bypassing traditional aid silos and partnering with more than 10,000 local leaders and global retailers, Greater Good Charities has achieved unprecedented scale:
- 4 billion+ meals delivered to people
- 895 million+ meals delivered to pets
- 35 million+ acres of land protected
- 12 billion+ bees and native pollinators safeguarded
- 76,000+ spay/neuter surgeries conducted.
“Twenty years of listening to and partnering with communities worldwide has shown us that people, animals and the environment are inextricably linked – and complex challenges can’t be solved by any one organization alone,” said Liz Baker, CEO of Greater Good Charities. “By working with local leaders on-the-ground, as well as with manufacturers, distributors and retailers, we’ve redefined expectations for how quickly aid can move during a crisis.”
Some of the key achievements over the last 20 years and featured in the Impact Report include:
- Disaster Response: Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Greater Good charities deployed 130 trucks, delivering $7.8 million in aid to more than 50 hard-hit and hard-to-reach communities.
- Ukraine Support: Since 2022, Greater Good Charities has provided holistic aid to the people of Ukraine, from helping to install shatterproof windows and winterizing homes to supporting displaced beekeepers.
- Animal Health: Greater Good Charities manages large-scale spay/neuter and vaccination programs in refugee camps and vulnerable regions across Greece, Ukraine and the United States to improve public health.
- Biodiversity: To protect global food security, the nonprofit has led science-based programs that provide essential aid and habitat restoration from pollinators.
- Education: In partnership with Girls’ Voices, Greater Good Charities has provided more than $210,000 in scholarships and empowered more than 2,000 young women through documentary filmmaking and confidence-building programs.
As it enters its third decade, Greater Good Charities is integrating data-driven insights and AI to address the evolving threats of climate change and global conflict, leveraging every tool available to continue amplifying the good.
“While the future for the humanitarian sector may be uncertain, our mission remains clear: respond rapidly, amplify the good, stay adaptable and approach every challenge with creative solutions,” added Baker.
