Invesco responds to the Winter fuel crisis and cost of living increase with charity donations

The Invesco Cares Foundation has announced substantial donations to two carefully considered charities supporting people in need through the winter. As a result of the current fuel crisis and the increasing cost of living, the Invesco Cares Committee has decided to split £185,000 equally between two charities: the Trussell Trust and the Fuel Bank Foundation.

The Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of more than 1,200 food banks across the UK where there are currently more than 14 million people living in poverty, including 4.5 million children. They work with the food banks to provide nutritionally balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis.

The Fuel Bank Foundation is the only UK charity to focus on helping households who are struggling to pay energy bills. Supporting those on pre-payment meters, the charity gives instant grants to cover two weeks’ worth of fuel to people struggling to cope. According to the Foundation’s research, 96% of the 650,000 supported by the foundation were having to make the choice between heating and eating.

Claire Myers, Charity & Community Engagement Manager at Invesco said, “We are fortunate to be in a position to donate to two worthy charities which will directly benefit those most affected by rising food and fuel prices this winter.”
