Moneysupermarket Group Announces Two-Year Partnership With Suicide Prevention Charity CALM

Moneysupermarket Group is pleased to announce its new two-year charity partnership with suicide prevention organisation Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Moneysupermarket Group businesses include financial consumer website MoneySavingExpert, MoneySuperMarket – one of the UK’s leading price comparison websites, and cashback site Quidco. The partnership will see the Group’s 600 plus colleagues come together to help fundraise and volunteer to support CALM’s critical work to prevent suicides.

The partnership is particularly timely as the impact of Covid and the cost-of-living crisis continues to take a huge toll on mental health. Demand for CALM’s helpline has increased by 74% since 2020 and CALM has recently seen a 43% increase in people accessing their services due to money worries.

With demand for CALM’s helpline at an all-time high, Moneysupermarket Group’s fundraising has never been so needed. Moneysupermarket Group will also work with CALM to create a suite of digital resources to help people with money worries and signpost to where additional support can be accessed.

Peter Duffy, CEO of Moneysupermarket Group said: “Sadly, money worries can have a terrible impact on mental health and there has never been a timelier moment for us to partner with CALM and use our collective expertise to help support people.

“Money and mental health can be two tricky topics to talk about – we hope that through our partnership we can make it a little bit easier to start that conversation, and find the help you need, when you need it – whether that’s how to tackle your finances or knowing that your call to the CALM’s helpline will be answered when you need their help.”

Simon Gunning, CEO, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) said: ‘’We’re delighted to be Moneysupermarket Group’s new charity partner. Right now, more people than ever are turning to CALM for support and advice, with demand up +17% year on year. To put that into context in 2022 we had over 3 million minutes of potentially lifesaving calls via our helpline and webchat services and this year we will help even more people.

“With the cost-of-living crisis having a huge impact on the nation’s wellbeing, our partnership with Moneysupermarket Group will be crucial in raising vital funds and awareness, allowing us to continue to be there for anyone who is struggling and reach more people in our fight against suicide.’’

Moneysupermarket Group has set an ambitious £150,000 fundraising goal. The Group also aims to reach millions of people online with bespoke digital content created with CALM and its experts from MoneySavingExpert, MoneySuperMarket and Quidco. In line with the Moneysupermarket Group purpose to help households save money, the new partnership aims to help more people across the UK have the tools they need to manage money worries and signpost suicide prevention support for anyone who needs it.

The partnership will also serve as a platform for fantastic fundraising and volunteering opportunities for Moneysupermarket Group colleagues.
