The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has approved a US$31 million results-based payment for Uganda in recognition of the country’s measurable success in reducing deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions. The approval is a historic milestone for Uganda and Africa, being the first GCF results-based payment project on the continent. New rules and guidance for less healthy food and drink advertising

Today, the Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP) have published the outcome of their consultation on rules and guidance to implement new legal restrictions on advertising food and drink products. Following formal approval by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Ofcom, CAP’s regulatory statement confirms how the new restrictions will be administered through the UK Advertising Codes. Royal Mail powers ahead with new fleet of electric HGVs

Royal Mail has rolled out its first fleet of eight electric Heavy Goods Vehicles (eHGVs) at its Midlands and North West Parcel Hubs. The launch is a major step forward in reducing the company’s carbon emissions by replacing diesel-powered 42-tonne trucks with zero-emission alternatives. The eight DAF 42-tonne XD 350E electric HGVs will operate around the clock, handling ‘middle-mile’ deliveries between parcel hubs and mail centres. UK Corporate Accountability Exposed as Climate Commitments Fail to Deliver

A new analysis of FTSE 250 companies has found that three years of improved climate disclosure and rising net-zero pledges have delivered almost no real-world decarbonisation, raising concerns about the credibility of UK corporate climate action as COP30 continues in Brazil.
