This Christmas a group of charities will come together with London locals and businesses to support communities following one of the most challenging years in living memory. Santander Foundation Donates £1million To Age Uk And Alzheimer’s Society To Support Vulnerable People In The Community

The Santander Foundation has announced a £1miilion donation to Age UK and Alzheimer’s Society to support some of the most vulnerable people in the community following the outbreak of COVID-19. The funding (£500,000 for Age UK and £500,000 for Alzheimer’s Society) will assist both charities who are on the frontline of offering vital support for both older people and those affected by dementia. John Lewis Partnership announces new measures to support customers and the vulnerable

The John Lewis Partnership, has announced new measures to help its shops meet the needs of customers with a particular focus on the elderly and the vulnerable. These include a £1million Community Support Fund to be distributed by Waitrose shops to local communities, and protected shopping time for the elderly and the vulnerable. The Silver Line, a charity for older people, is best known for its national 24/7 helpline which offers emotional support and friendship for older people. By joining forces, the ambition is to help more of the older people who most need The Silver Line’s vital loneliness services.
