The nation deserves a public campaign on reducing dementia risk

Recording-breaking year for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s flagship walking event

Thousands joined Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Walk For A Cure series across the UK Eight walking events – six 5km routes and two multi-distance hikes – saw a total of 3,328 supporters walking with and in honour of their loved ones. The 5km events took place in Leeds, London, Poole, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Edinburgh while hikers enjoyed longer walks in the Peak District and the Cotswolds. Alzheimer’s Research UK receives £3.9 MILLION from the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Scotland

On Friday 11 April, it was announced that the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Scotland had raised £3.9 million to speed up the search for breakthrough dementia treatments, and ultimately, a cure.  Almost one million people in the UK are currently living with the condition, and it is the leading cause of death in the UK.
