The UK’s largest national children’s charity is urging the Government to listen to feedback from its relationship and sex education consultation as the charity celebrates LGBT History Month. Barnardo’s says there must be education about same sex relationships in both secondary and primary school lessons. Barnardo’s celebrates success of anti-bullying programme in schools: LGBT History Month

Leading children’s charity Barnardo’s is celebrating training over 8,000 staff and over 640 parent, community and pupil ambassadors through an anti-homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying programme. The work, which is funded by the Government Equalities Office and supported by the Department for Education, is in schools across Yorkshire & Humberside. Barnardo’s Positive Identities service delivered 411 sessions in 162 schools over the last 21 months. Charity calls for more foster carers as number of children in care rises by 27 percent in a decade in England

More children are being taken into care with fewer foster carers to look after them, says Barnardo’s as it launches its 10th annual fostering campaign fronted by TOWIE’s Lydia Bright and Debbie Douglas.
