Charity Retail Association and Wil-U, Launch Volunteering Matching Service

The Charity Retail Association  in collaboration with Wil-U, have launched an initiative to help match potential volunteers with charity shops when they reopen on or after the 15th June. From today, members of the public who are potentially interested in volunteering can go to www.charityshopvolunteer.org.uk and sign up in a very simple and short process. Charity retailers who have vacancies will then be able to interrogate the database and identify potential volunteers according to their location and specific charity interest (eg medical research, animal welfare etc). Charity Retail Association celebrates launch of new safeguarding scheme

The Charity Retail Association (CRA) is proud to launch the Charity Retail Safeguarding Scheme (CRSS), developed in conjunction with Barnardo’s. The scheme was set up to encourage charity retailers to follow a consistent set of principles which ensure that the charity shops adhere to best practice when it comes to safeguarding issues in stores. The scheme sets out criteria that the charity shop needs to follow in order to display the certificate, including completing a course of elearning, obtaining DBS checks and signing a Safeguarding code of conduct. Charity Retail Association launches new online mentoring platform

The Charity Retail Association have launched a new online mentoring platform for their members. The platform is aimed at charity retailers and available to all their charity members. The mentoring platform is a matching process that enables members to build an effective mentoring relationship, whereby they can either explore areas of their professional life they wish to develop, or give back by offering their own expertise.
