The Charity Retail Association are delighted to announce that The Air Ambulance Service Shop in Melton Mowbray has been crowned the winner of the UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Award! The East Midlands charity shop claimed the winning title at the 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner, held in London on 19 November. The shop was one of 12 area winners in the running to receive the title. The Charity Retail Association are delighted to announce that the following twelve charity shops have taken the title of area winner in The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Awards. Vote now for The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop!

The second stage of The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Award is now open. Members of the public will be voting for their favourite UK charity shop from a shortlist of 6  in each of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English regions. Charity shop fans have until midnight on 23 September to vote for their favourite shop, with the winners from each region to be announced in the coming weeks. Charity shop sales remain steady following record growth last year

Charity shop income remained steady at the start of 2024 following record sales last year, research from the Charity Retail Association shows. Like-for-like in-store income grew by 0.8% in January-March 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, whilst the average transaction value increased by 4.2%.  Strong online sales boosted total charity shop income in the face of severe weather and reduced footfall according to the Charity Retail Association’s Quarterly Market Analysis report, with sales through online channels increasing by 14.3% compared to January-March 2023.
